About Me

I’m Beth, a wife and mom with an affinity for photography, travel, and vanilla lattes. I live in Charlotte, NC with my husband, our two boys RB (15) and JB (13), and two of the cutest Catahoula leopard dog mixes ever.

If people still carried business cards, mine would probably say “will work for travel” under my name. I work for a healthcare company doing software system support, combining my education in finance/accounting with my technical background in IT consulting. You might think combing accounting with computer coding makes for a less than exciting work life. You might be right. But I combat that with a healthy sense of wanderlust and two active boys. I’m always plotting our next adventure.

My first experience traveling abroad was a summer semester at Oxford after my sophomore year of college. I was definitely bitten by the travel bug while I was there and have been to 18 countries across 4 continents since then. (Asia, Africa, and Antarctica, I’m coming for you!)

Our hope is to instill a love of travel in our boys. My husband and I turned 40 the same year my oldest son turned 8. When we realized that in 10 years he would be off to college, we decided to focus the next decade on family travel. We hope to leave the country at least once a year but also explore some of the amazing areas in our own back yard.

I hope you’ll join us on our adventures and get some helpful tips as you plan your own!
