North Carolina’s neighbor to the west, Tennessee is most famous for mountains (the Smokies), music (Elvis and country), and whisky. My sister went to Vanderbilt for business school and I visited her there 20+ years ago, but other than that my biggest exposure to Tennessee was the Simpsons episode where Bart and his friends road trip to Knoxville to try to go to the World’s Fair (many years too late). I will forever be disappointed that there is not an actual sign that says Tennesseein’ is Tennebelievin’ because there is, indeed, a lot to see in Tennessee.
